Valley Forge Casino Resort to Host PA Sports Hall of Fame Induction

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (Sept. 22, 2014) – Valley Forge Casino Resort will host the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet for the Montgomery County Chapter on Sept. 26, at the Radisson Hotel. The cocktail reception will begin at 6 p.m., with seating at 7:30 p.m., and will be
followed by inductee introductions, dinner and awards.

The Class of 2014 induction ceremony will honor the following 12 individuals who have excelled in their various athletic careers: Sheldon (Shelly) Chamberlain, soccer/coaching/administrator; Jim Church, unsung hero/broadcaster; Glenn Fine, basketball; Randy Garber, soccer; Jim Gibbons, track and field/athletic director; Tameka (Tammy) Greene, basketball; Gerry Hunsicker, baseball; Craig Littlepage, basketball/athletic director; Amanda
O’Leary, lacrosse/field hockey; John Rienstra, football/wrestling; Clarence (Scotty) Scott, football; and Alvin Williams, basketball.

Many of the honorees shine well beyond their own athletic achievements and now have prominent professional careers, including Inspector General of the United States, board members of several charitable organizations, coaches of prestigious universities, and executives for professional sports teams. The Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1963, and is the only community based Hall of Fame in the country. Serving over 300 communities, the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame honors the scholastic, collegiate and community service efforts of athletes, administrators, coaches, and those involved in sports medicine and sports media. The Montgomery County Chapter was chartered in 2009, and recognizes outstanding individuals
who were born, worked or performed in Montgomery County.
